Having identified the Sofia/Borovets area as the area in which we intended to invest, we visited the area in Sept 2006 to view some properties. Many of these were a bit too rural for us, however before returning to Sofia we called in the then new Golf club Ibar development in Dolna Banya.

The idea of buying property in Bulgaria seemed very appealing, but also rather daunting because we were buying off-plan, the obvious language barriers, the different culture and the fact that Bulgaria was a developing market.

I initially made contact with Jim at Bulgarias Finest, who impressed me because as an investor himself in Ibar, he was very knowledgeable about the development and the buying process and was able to answer all my queries very promptly. He also helped arrange our inspection trip to the site by liaising with Ibar, and making sure we were well looked after whilst in Bulgaria.

Throughout the build process, Jim kept us informed of progress with regular telephone calls and e-mails, including sending us pictures of our property under construction, so that my wife and I could see the transformation for ourselves.

Unlike other agents I have dealt with, Jim at Bulgarias Finest always returned my calls or e-mails very promptly, which may only sound like a little thing, but when you are investing thousands of pounds, it is reassuring to know that someone cares and is interested in your transaction as much as you are.

I went to Bulgaria on holiday without any intention of buying a property. After visiting the Country I was so impressed with the beauty and its potential and did some extensive research.

My partner and I purchased a studio apartment on the Ibar complex in April of this year. We paid the full amount up front, instead of going with the staged payments. The deposit we paid to secure the property was refunded as soon as the funds were transferred into their Bulgarian account from my partner's UK bank account. After that we received the contracts promptly and have since received regular updates as to the progress of the development and the stages of build on our particular apartment block. We haven't, as yet, had to use a solicitor for anything.

At all times the staff at Bulgaria's Finest have been really helpful, always replying to emails or telephone calls. They have given loads of helpful, constructive advice and guidance.

Our apartment is due for completion in January and so far we feel reassured that we have made a good investment.

It was with some interest that I found out about the Golf Club IBar development to be built near Sofia, Bulgaria, however, not knowing anything about the country or its people or indeed the potential problems that could develop, I was somewhat hesitant in making a commitment. However, with the generous assistance of Mr. Lawlor, the UK based MD of "Bulgarias Finest", I eventually decided to commit to the project and have purchased an "Anna 2 Villa". The level of service that I have received from Mr Lawlor and the staff has been of the highest calibre, and I see no reason why it cannot continue until the project completes. I am delighted with my purchase and look forward to many enjoyable days spent in winter and summer in Bulgaria.
